      If you do not already know, I have a very special Facebook fan page devoted to one on one interactions and special giveaways as well as pre releases for you my fans! You have all done so much for me in the past and now my IG is at over 2500 followers! I feel so blessed and am so proud of where this little business and following has taken me.
     On a sad note, there is a lie circulating around about my company propagated by this person- Also see here on IG. She recently had to rebrand as she was being sued for infringing on another companies logos, name and style. I know her very little but she has turned around and tried to put that same bad energy on me. I urge you to not support someone as vindictive as this and keep in mind that no matter what anyone else tries to do to keep I,A.M...CustomColor Cosmetics and Lacquer down, we will always be here to offer you our 100% best Custom Crafted Cosmetics!      Today we are talking about Hunger and Nutrition. If you haven't figured out by now, our collections do deal with third world and global issues but also one's that can easily be related right here at home.
Here is an article published today on the subject of Hunger in the US-  NPR Article
     I personally feel, like I do with October as well as December's collections, that these are not issues that should even be relevant. No one should be hungry, no one should be without medical care and NO ONE should be without clean, life sustaining water. There is just no logical sense to be made for the arguments for these issues. I just don't get it? We have world class planes and travel that can take any one person from one side of the earth and back in a day. Food as well can be mass transported this way as well. It just comes down to that issues that kills me on a daily basis, GREED. Money and more money. If you don't have this imaginary sense of worth in paper then tell me what does it all mean? How can the rich continue to get fat and richer while the poor starve and stay poor?
      Sorry, not sorry, that was a rant and a half, but I suppose I am just one of those people that doesn't think my self worth is measured by how much better I am than those around me, or elevated above... When I think of November and what this month represents, I think about Thanksgiving and what a great equalizer that is meant to represent. Two warring sides put aside their differences for a day to share in the wealth each had to offer so that no one starved. While I am sure this is completely idealized, isn't it a warm and fuzzy concept to behold? Doesn't it feel good to think that the pilgrims, those first European settlers shared with the Natives of this land? Versus the reality that they stole, raped and pillaged as well as decimated their culture beliefs and peoples. That is a rant for another day.
     In honor of that warm and fuzzy concept, this month's collection donate to UNICEF and their mission to help aid those in dire need. They help the hungry, sick and weak and is something we all should take to heart in this season of over-eating, over-spending gluttony. Donate some cans to a can drive or donate your time to a soup kitchen, invite a friend or neighbor that may not have anywhere to go this Thanksgiving to come and enjoy this time of giving thanks with you. If you start to feel overwhelmed or down as some can do this season, just remember that YOU can make a huge difference in someone else's life this season and that is a wholly rewarding feeling all it's own.
    On the converse while the US does have the juxtaposition of being a nation with the highest obesity rate in the world along side starving children in lower class neighborhoods, the types of foods that are offered at a lower cost do not offer the nutrition and health we need. Fast food, vending machines, SUGAR, SUGAR and SUGAR... These will be our downfall. Consider this month cutting back on your salt and sugar in take and walking just a little bit more. Did you know if you are concerned about your weight that just cutting soda from your diet, if a regular drinker, can equal a pound a week just in sugar and carbs!?! Consider not only others this season, but yourself and your heart as well. Do it!

Sauced-

This gorgeous blackened cranberry holo is beyond belief beautiful. It may have a slight shift to it with tons of awing shimmer. The name was inspired by Cranberry sauce and my awkward vernacular and love of saying things like "Food Me"... So Sauce me, may not have been as well understood, I went with Sauced. (While I love this holo, I am not a huge fan of cranberry sauce in a can. lols)

Cornucopia-

This is a really awesome representation of the colors of fall. We have bronzes, browns, golds, whites, yellow and orange glitters in many shapes, sizes and finishes. Everything needed to represent the perfect cornucopia! I, personally am not a huge brown, orange or yellow fan, but this glitter is gorgeous and I made sure to save myself one and have worn it multiple times. That is saying something.

Eat Your Greens-

This is a mid tone green shimmer Eye Pigment that will make you stand up and say wow! It is the perfect addition to this set and just what everyone needs to complete those gorgeous fall looks! This shadow was inspired by green bean casserole and that need I have to make sure everyone is getting their proper nutrition. SO um, ya, eat your greens... 

Stuffed-

This Eye Pigment is a gorgeous purple/brown taupe colored shadow. Tons of shimmer and super opaque, this shadow is an essential fall color that is sure to make everyone notice and compliment all eye colors and skin tones. Stuffed was inspired by that browned turkey full of stuffing on Thanksgiving day.

I chose to write this giving Thanks post on an important day as well! Happy Veteran's day to all and Make sure to thank a veteran or active duty service member for all they do to ensure our country continues. Rebel 4 A Cause October 2014 What Medicine?

Hello my lovely Custom Colorists!
How are you all today? It is slowly approaching our Northern Hemisphere's Fall Season, Autumn, definitely one of my favorite times of year. The change and the cooling season. Where I live in California it can be very hot in the summer so the nice fall change is always welcome. On top of the incredibly hot summer we had this year we have been having some crazy droughts, I will talk more about this for December's collection.
   I recently got a new full time day job, which is very exciting for me personally. It presents new opportunities for me as I have been without healthcare for about 4.5/5 years. This has been scary because if I get sick I have little cushion to fall back on. I have always been in awe of the EU and it's universal healthcare system, as well as that system utilized in other places around the world. Some places in underdeveloped nations do not have the opportunity to have things like health care, let alone universally. Some indigenous peoples have even less access and it leads us the title of October's collection "What Medicine?".
   This collection has a bit of a fear factor for me, being that the US celebrates Halloween at the end of October ( my personal favorite holiday), you will notice a very distinct Halloween feel to this collection with the colors used as well as the fear factor part being that I personally also have extreme anxiety about germs and infectious diseases.
    In June 2009, I had a 6 day stay in quarantine in the the hospital due to an unknown infection. Turned out to just be an untreated case of Strep throat that turned into tonsillitis, which in turn infected my lymph nodes and salivary glands. It was the most extreme pain and worst experiences of my life (I have 70% of my back tattooed and did it in 2 days back to back sessions). Aside from technically assaulting one nurse and making another cry, I am truly thankful for the modern medicine that I had access to. If I had not, I may not be here to tell you about this today. It was not self abating and required tons of medication and tests to resolve. I had over 6 specialty doctors scratching their heads to help me get better, however without all their expert help, I could be in a box. Something simple like strep even in modern America can lead to life threatening illness, can you imagine the things we dismiss and take for granted like nutritious sustenance, clean water and infectious disease doctors in a third world nation that doesn't have the infrastructure for any of that?
    I am primarily talking about the current outbreak that West Africa is suffering of Ebola Virus. When they said they were bringing the American Ebola patients back to the US, I had a full 24 hour anxiety attack in which I did not sleep, could barely eat and was non functioning, I mean, it was still over 2,000 miles away from me, but in my country. After my scare with Quarantine and my propensity for getting ill, I am certain that my immune system would not be able to handle it. It could barely handle knowing it was in my country. Sorry about all the TMI, but it is something we just don't have to think about being in a first world country. I have heard some atrocious things from uneducated Americans along the lines of "better them than us." and "Well, I mean won't it just thin out their population, that's a good thing right?' I just can't, I have no response to idiocy like that...
   Generally the people that act first on outbreaks like this in countries that cannot do it for themselves is an Organisation called "Doctors without borders" and the people that research the outbreak, giving it a single point contagion is "The World Health Organisation." However due to the failing global economy, both of these organisations have suffered in the past few years, this combined with cultural differences in West Africa, have helped create the worst outbreak in history of this frightening disease.
   Ok, Ok, enough talking, I was already reminded by a less than stellar person that NO ONE cares about things we can't relate to. I feel like it isn't a stretch to imagine the connection to the causes I have supported this year. It is because of this that the Rebel4aCause Series will not continue in the same manner next year.
    Anyway, Onto the JUICE!

     In this collection we have 1-Holo, 1-Glitterbomb, 1-blush and 1-eye pigment. This is considerably less products than past collections and I think for my benefit as well as yours that we will continue to keep collections small. When I get swatches I will share them with you, until then here are a few product pics!

INVADER ZIM "Let the Nightmare Begin" Part 2 Releasing 9/15/2014

You have been so amazing throughout this process and I am finally starting to feel like this is it! This will be my collection release, the cause collections set to release next month will also be the best releases ever~ I know it! I have already ran out of stock of the batches I made, just in swatcher sales. Which is a big deal for me. I also know I must be doing something right because I had an extreme anonymous hater come onto my IG and rant and rave, which to me just showcases jealousy. LOL. In this part two collection we have 5 amazing polishes and the holographic top coat is still available as well. I have decided to not offer minis this time around, they are just not cost effective.

Next we have: Rise of Zit Boy-

This is by far my favorite episode ever (Click to watch). It is absolutely disgusting and yet so hilarious I die every time. It has several of my favorite quotables as well as some of the best GIR action around. The color was intially intended to be much more dark, almost a forest tone with more shift, however I feel that the shade it became fits Pustulio better as well as the actual theme of the show!

Fifth we have- Mysterious Mysteries of Strange Mystery

This episode helps illuminate Dib's paranormal hunting. (Click to watch) It is the tv show that Dib and his sister Gaz faithfully watch in the series. I knew I wanted to make this a black holo polish. It hs several micron sizes of holo in it allowing for it to be much more opaque black, linear rainbow holo with out the greying effect common in a lot of "black" holo polishes. This is a true beauty!
